死生亦大矣〔sǐ shēng yì dà yǐ〕
子曰：「死生亦大矣。」
孔子：「死生算術也是同樣重要的大事了，而他完全不被介入，即使天崩地裂，他也不會跟著起伏。他位於無所假借的狀態，因此不隨萬物轉移；他洞徹萬物的變化，而能守住自己的根本。
“ Death and life are just as important, but they could work no change in him. Though heaven and earth were to be overturned and fall, they would occasion him no loss. His judgment is fixed regarding that in which there is no element of falsehood; and, while other things change, he changes not. The transformations of things are to him the developments prescribed for them, and he keeps fast hold of the author of them. ”
